Why Air Conditioning

One System. Cool Summers And Warm Winters.

With UK summers running hotter and heatwaves more frequent each year, modern home air conditioning does far more than cool a room in August. The right system, installed correctly, heats your home efficiently through winter too — quietly, and controlled from your phone.

Sleep Better

Fall asleep faster and stay asleep in a bedroom held at the perfect temperature, all night long.

Stay Cool During Heatwaves

Keep bedrooms, conservatories and home offices comfortable even on the West Midlands' hottest days.

Heat Your Home Efficiently

Reverse-cycle systems heat as well as they cool, often for less than running a traditional heater.

Smartphone Control

Adjust the temperature from your phone before you've even walked through the door.

Quiet Operation

Engineered for whisper-quiet running, so it's barely noticeable right next to where you sleep or work.

Professional Installation

Every system is installed to F-Gas regulations by qualified engineers, fully tested before we leave.

Before We Install

What We Check Before Installing

Room & System Size

We check room size, window size, insulation, sun exposure and how the room is used before recommending a package.

Indoor & Outdoor Position

We check the indoor unit wall, the outside wall, pipe distance, outdoor unit position and available airflow.

Drainage & Electrical Route

We check condensate drainage, electrical supply, safe cable routes and whether any extra work is needed.

Access & Property Type

We check floor level, side access, parking and working space, and flag flats, leasehold or conservation-area considerations.

Planning

Most homes don't need planning permission — the outdoor unit is normally covered under permitted development if it's under 0.6m³, at least 1m from your boundary, and not on a pitched roof or a road-facing wall. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas usually do need consent.

VAT

Every package we install provides heating and cooling, so it typically qualifies for the government's 0% VAT relief on energy-saving materials, in place until 31 March 2027. We'll confirm exactly what applies to your installation.

F-Gas

Split air conditioning systems must be installed by an engineer qualified to work with F-Gas refrigerant equipment — every install we carry out is.

Why Homeowners Choose Us

Built For West Midlands Homes

Homes across the West Midlands bring their own challenges for heating and cooling — conservatories that overheat every July, loft conversions that trap warm air, and bedrooms that need to stay cool for a proper night's sleep, whatever part of the region you're in. We design every air conditioning installation around the room it's going into.

Whether it's a single bedroom, a conservatory, a home office or an open-plan living space, our engineers assess the room before recommending a package — not the other way round. Every installation across Birmingham, Coventry, the Black Country and the wider West Midlands is carried out by F-Gas certified engineers, fully tested before we leave, starting with a free, no-obligation quote.

FAQs

West Midlands Air Conditioning FAQs

How much does air conditioning installation cost in the West Midlands?

Fixed packages start from £1,495 — around the lower end of the typical £1,500–£3,500 UK range for a single room. The final price depends on room size, access, pipe route, electrical supply, condensate drainage and outdoor unit position.

Does my installation qualify for 0% VAT?

In most cases, yes. The government's 0% VAT relief on energy-saving materials applies to fixed systems that provide both heating and cooling — every Bronze, Silver and Gold package we install does both, so they typically qualify. This relief is in place until 31 March 2027. A separate Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant of up to £2,500 may also be available for air-to-air heat pumps — ask us when you enquire.

Which parts of the West Midlands do you cover?

We install across Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and the surrounding towns and villages. If you're unsure whether we cover your postcode, just ask.

Can air conditioning heat as well as cool?

Yes. Modern wall-mounted systems cool in summer and provide efficient heating in winter.

Can it be installed in one day?

Most standard domestic installations are completed within one working day, subject to access and the installation route.

Do I need planning permission?

Most homes don't. The outdoor unit is normally covered under permitted development if it's under 0.6m³, at least 1 metre from your boundary, and not fitted on a pitched roof or a wall facing the road. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas usually do need permission. We'll flag this during your free assessment.

Will I need any electrical work?

Most homes already have enough spare capacity for a dedicated circuit, which typically adds a modest amount to the job. Older or fully-loaded consumer units occasionally need an upgrade — we check this during the free assessment so there are no surprises, and any electrical work is carried out to Part P standards.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

Usually on an external wall bracket or on the ground, depending on access, airflow and the layout of the room.

Is air conditioning noisy?

No — modern indoor units typically run at around 20–30dB, about as quiet as a whisper, and most have a dedicated 'Sleep Mode' that lowers the fan speed further overnight. The outdoor unit is louder but is sited away from windows wherever possible.

Is fixed air conditioning better than a portable unit?

Generally yes — fixed systems are quieter, more efficient and more effective than portable air conditioners.

What size unit do I need?

We recommend the right size after checking room size, insulation, windows, sun exposure and how the space is used.

Do you cover my postcode?

We cover the whole West Midlands region. Call 0121 312 9767 or send your postcode by WhatsApp and we'll confirm straight away.

Can I send photos for a quote?

Yes — send photos of the room, the indoor wall, the outside wall and the outdoor unit location through WhatsApp for a fast quote.

What's included in the installation?

Every package includes the indoor wall unit, outdoor condenser, installation, commissioning and a full demonstration.

When's the best time of year to install?

Any time — most installs are completed within a day whatever the season. That said, booking in autumn, winter or early spring usually means faster availability and shorter lead times than during the summer rush, so it's worth planning ahead if you can.
